Double Christmas Cheers in Dec 2010..Meals on wheels BOLEHHHH!!!!

Although our centre had a minor fire mishap late November 2010, it didn't stop us from bringing a little happiness and joy to others. We are committed to calls for food in our best capability

Due to the incident, we borrowed our Ti-Ratana Welfare Home's kitchen in Desa Petaling.

On Saturday afternoon, Kit, Steven, Andrew joined forces with Uncle Tan and in house  helpers from Ti-Ratana Welfare Home to prepare the necessary for the next day cooking.

Ti-Ratana's Children too came to lend thier helping hand

For the very first  time we were preparing for 2 venues - Shalom Home & Puchong Community Centre for the Poor. Both are in Puchong.

Apart from our usual Cooking team we are happy to have In houseHhelpers & children of Ti-Ratana Welfare Home join us too to whip up the delicious meal.

While we were at the Shalom Home,  volunteers were entertained by the children. They hip hop and sang christmas song...WOW!These can really dance. However, they forgot some of the song, they were silent on 2nd part of Jinggle Bells...LOL! Anyway it was nice, to hear some Christmas some towards the festive season
Our Ti-Ratana Santa Claus can dance too..LOL!

Thank you Uncle Tan who brought along a Santa Claus along to bring cheers to the children of Shalom Home.

We are fortunate  to have 2 monks from Thailand & 1 monk from Ipoh (Ajahn Tikkhayano) join us in this trip. And the Senior monk (Luang Phor Noo) gave out the Christmas gifts to the children on and later they blessed all the children. And the children too said a prayer to

Below Written by Ms Jessica lai after her visits to Puchong Community Centre for the Poor

Would like to share with you our great experience during our last Christmas Art of Giving on the 12th Dec,2010 with the Puchong Community Center for the Poor. It is a managed by Sister Joan Philip of FMM.

Initially I just wanted to visit & pass Christmas Gifts to the children that Sister Joan is giving tuition during the weekends, I shared it with my sister, Catherine lai, she was so sweet that she arranged Ti-Ratana Meals on Wheels to provide food.....yahooooo....!!!!

I sent an email to share and we received from many support in terms of loving contributions, helping to buy & wrap the gifts&; also being there on the day to help out from friends from .....Thank you God for sending angels to make it a loving & memorable one.

With the loving contributions we collected we have passed it to Sister Joan for the Center & the Community Clinic. Sister Joan Philip, a nurse trained in England was serving in The Assunta hospital at the delivery ward. She left the hospital few years ago and dedicate herself to serve the poor around Taman Puchong Indah.

She started the learning centre 25 years ago and also the Community Clinic that is operating
for last sixteen years is a place of hope & help for the poor and destitute.

Sister Joan operates both centres on a very low profile, as such the funding are solely by word of mouth.

The Community Center for the Poor is a center where Sister Joan gives tuitions to the less fortunate kids & the clinic is open to all races & all religions!

The clinic charges RM7.00 per patient, doctors are volunteer doctors from Assunta same goes with the nurses. The love contributons that we collected will help them to purchase the right medications, milk powder for the under privilege patients ie pregnant mothers & mostly elderly.

Infact they are looking for another volunteer doctor for the night shift.

This is the 1st time ever the children received Christmas presents & loving home cooked food. Most of them could not finish their food because they are not used to eating so much, esp meat.

This has given my family a great experience & its a very humbling experience.
My son Joshua learnt to served, share & even eat on the floor with the rest of the children. Priceless experience for us all, working for ONE objective as ONE family = LOVE.

Please help to pray for them. Thank you....;-) By Jessica Lai
