Meals on wheels caring,giving and sharing trip to Kapar - 24th Oct 2010

It all started our meals on wheels email went out mentioning about our intention to give, care and serve the indian communities in Kapar and it is also inconjuction of deepavali celebration which was just around the corner.....

Voila...we receive a wonderful  support and contributions from all of you that we managed to pack 20 useful items into the goodie bags ...unbelievable


Repacking started one week before that actual date....Took us 3 hrs plus! And goodies continued to come in in the afternoon...

And here's the goodie bag for the indian communities...it came just in time for their deepavali celebration...And we would like to recall the items received as follows:
1) 3kg of rice for each family
2) 1pkt of bee hoon
3) 1kg of flour
4) 1kg of sugar
5) 1 pkt of muruku flour
6) 1 pkt of Baba's curry powder
7) 1 pkt of dhall
8) 1pkt of dried chilli
9) 1pkt of gralic & onion
10) 1 can of sardine
11) 1 can of baked beans
12) 1 FAB detergent
13) 2 body soap
14) 1 can of condense milk
15) 1 kg bottle of cooking oil
16) 1 pkt of biscuits
17) Sweets for children
18) 3 in 1 coffee
19) 1 bath Towel
20) 1 pkt salt



all food preparation was done on Oct 23 @ 2.30pm and volunteers came in early at 7.30am on Oct 24 to start cooking. See our chefs at work....no no no they are the pirates of carribean...LOL!







Another team assist to load the goodies and old clothes into the car and of course one car was not enough..volunteers were kind enough to allow us to load into their cars...thank you thank you..!!






When we reached the centre where all the communities were.And these are the children having their Sunday Class...All these children are from the estates around Kapar and Pastor from the church send buses and cars to pick them every weekend to attend sunday class.And at 12.30pm they are given English tuition class. And before that the church will also provide them lunch.

We later gave out the goodie bags for each family and there were a total of 61 bags given on that day. It was really heavy....Thanks Adelyn!
