Dear Friends & Volunteers
Meals on wheels will be heading out to Selangor Family Aid Association, Ulu Yam this weekend.
The Association was established in 1988, with a primary aim of providing a home for the aged, the handicapped and the mentally disabled children. Currently, the Home houses about 100 over residents (a mixture of teenagers to elderly folks). The Home depends on donations and charities from well- wishers.
For your information, the home are in need of daily groceries such as Milo,Milk,cooking oil, rice,salt,sugar,cereal,garlic, onions.... etc. If you wish to donate these items,you may send the above items to our centre by Thursday 19 Aug 2010 (before 5.00pm) or you may send directly to the home at any time.

Volunteers help needed as follows:-
1) Food Preparation team - Washing and cutting vegetable ...(anything related to preparation for cooking). 3 - 4 volunteers to assist. Also washing up the utensils after the preparation. Need volunteers to come in on Saturday 21st Aug @ 2.00 pm to prepare for cooking on Sunday.
2) Cooking team (sunday 22 Aug @ 8.00am)- Need at least 3 - 4 volunteers to assist.
3) Washing/clean up team (sunday)– some of you may not be following us for food distribution therefore we greatly appreciate your stay back in the centre to wash/clean up the kitchen before heading home.
All the above team volunteers are to be at the centre by 7.30am. And all cooking must end by 10.30am. Every dish is ready, need a volunteers to load it our lorry immediately.
For those who just want to help us in food distribution, make your own arrangement to meet us at our centre and we shall convoy to Home by 10.30am. We will need your help to set up, unload food ,serving and back to the centre to assist cleaning up the remaining. Their lunch starts at 11.30am.
Each meals and wheels we head out, not only we distribute food, volunteers are encourage talk, mingle, listen to them and care for them.
