This is our very first time that we are going to work hand in hand with our buddhist sisters & brothers from Maha Vihara Brickfields who had a programme called Feed The Needy (FTN). They too started last year. Moreover this is also inconjunction of our volunteer lady chef - Ms Choy Kit Lee's (Kit) birthday....How old is she? ahhh..for you to find out and for us to know...LOL!
Well, Feed The Needy has been serving the community by distributing free food to the poor, elderly, homeless and needy at an open space car park at Jalan Pudu Lama, Kuala Lumpur [ in between Menara Maybank and Bursa Malaysia] every Sunday from 5.00 p.m. to 7.00p.m. And that's where we are heading to this coming weekend

Kit will be sponsoring 3 dishes (yes, she's cooking too) and Jenny Wong from FTN has got sponsor for buns
already. This time we will be preparing for 150pax
Volunteers needed
1) Food Preparation team - anything related to preparation for cooking (like cutting vegetables …etc) 5 - 6 volunteers to assist. Help washing of utensils after preparation is also required. Need volunteers to come in on Sunday 6th Mar @ 10.00am to prepare and cook for the evening
2) Cooking team - at least 3 - 4 person to assist
3) Washing/clean up team (sunday) – some of you may not be following us for food distribution therefore we greatly appreciate your stay back in the home to wash/clean up the kitchen before heading home.
And all cooking must end by 3.30pm and leave the centre by 4pm. Every dish is ready, need a volunteers to load it in our lorry immediately.
For those who want to help us in food distribution, make your own arrangement to meet us at our centre by 3.30pm .Appreciate punctuality cos briefing will be carry out. We will need your help to set up, serving and back to the centre to assist cleaning up the remaining.Or if you know the way, you may head there directly by 5.00pm
Please be informed , during food distribution those community holding BMV (buddhist Maha Vihara) Card will be given priority . Thereafter, from 5.45pm onwards, it will be open to the others who will be queuing at a separate line.
Rain or shine we will be there. If it rains we will use the shelter at the side of the shops. Bring along your umbrella or rain coat or disposable rain coat. Please note there is no shelter at the car park.
Donors are also welcome to contribute in kind
- Rice
- toiletteries - body soap, shampoo, toothpaste
- mineral water or any healthy drinks
- biscuits comes in packets or strips for easy distribution
- pre-love clothes suitable for old folks
- fruits e.g oranges, apples, banana (fruits that are easy for distribution)
You may send your contribution to our centre by Friday 4th March before 4pm. Our centre opens from Mon to Friday , from 10am - 5pm. Close during the public holidays
