Dear Friends & Volunteers
We will be heading out to Krash Pad KL this Sunday 18 Jul 2010 and also to Myanmmar Community in Cheras.
The Myanmmar Community in Cheras consist of approximately 300 residents (adults and children).
These are Chins from Myanmar and are Christians. The duration they have been here is from 4 months to 3 -4 years.
They came via Thailand by boat and many of their chidren have endured a lot of hardship on the way here. They are helped by a NGO group to get here and register with UNHCR. They receive no financial aid and are technically not allowed to work. But they do odd jobs to survive and sometimes socially harassed by the local authorities too.
This weekend food will be sponsored by an anonymous birthday girl. No cooking will be required for this time as Birthday girl wish to invite volunteers to "makan" together with the Myanmmar community and also help us in food distribution.
Make your own arrangement to meet us at our centre and we shall convoy to Cheras by 10.00am

If you have any unused, CLEAN AND IN GOOD CONDITION dresses, books, toys,children’s clothes, kitchen items.. etc. for the Myanmmar community, you may bring it along for it to be given away to them.
